GREEN SCHOOLS INITIATIVE

Here at Thomond Primary School we take great pride in playing our part in protecting our environment. We worked hard to achieve our first green flag in 2016-2017. The focus was on reducing waste and recycling. We now separate all our waste into the three main bins: recycling, food waste and general waste. The children play the most important role in this as they keep the enthusiasm up for the job. They monitor what’s going into the bins and are quite particular when people don’t take care! This is a great belief to instil in them, especially in our world today. We hope to continue our work on this and move to achieve our next Green Flag in the next couple of years.
